Esbayeni is a record book for cattle farmers. This page says what it keeps, where, who sees it, and how to delete it, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) asks.
On your phone
Your herd, camps, medicines, jobs, notes and photos are kept in the browser on your phone. They stay there unless you create an account and put the farm online.
Online, only if you create an account
Your name, your email, your password in scrambled form (we cannot read it), a scrambled recovery code, and the records and photos of farms you put online or join. Everyone on a farm sees that farm's records and the names and emails of the people on it.
Counts and error reports
To improve Esbayeni, each phone sends a daily count: how many animals, records and camps, whether a farm is set up or shared, the app language, the browser and the country. If the app breaks, it sends the error message and the screen it happened on. Neither has names, ear tags, farm names or records. Suggestions you send are kept with the contact details you choose to give.
Where it is kept
On Cloudflare's servers, which may be outside South Africa. We do not sell or share your information, and we use it only to run and improve Esbayeni and to answer you.
Your choices
See and keep a copy: Farm setup, Download backup. Correct: edit any record. Delete: Farm setup, Share and sync, Delete my account. Farms you own pass to the next person on them; a farm with nobody else is deleted from our servers. The records on your phone stay until you erase the farm.
Questions or complaints
Tap Help in the app and choose Report a problem; we read every message. You may also complain to the Information Regulator.

Igama lakho, i-imeyili yakho, iphasiwedi yakho ifihliwe (asikwazi ukuyifunda), ikhodi yokubuyisa efihliwe, kanye namarekhodi nezithombe zamapulazi owafaka ku-inthanethi noma owajoyinayo. Wonke umuntu osepulazini ubona amarekhodi alo kanye namagama nama-imeyili abantu abakulo.
Izibalo nemibiko yamaphutha
Ukuze sithuthukise i-Esbayeni, ifoni ngayinye ithumela isibalo nsuku zonke: zingaki izilwane, amarekhodi namakamu, noma ipulazi lihleliwe noma kwabelwana ngalo, ulimi, ibhrawuza nezwe. Uma uhlelo luphuka, luthumela umlayezo wephutha nesikrini okwenzeke kuso. Akukho kokubili okunamagama, amathegi, amagama amapulazi noma amarekhodi. Iziphakamiso ozithumelayo zigcinwa nemininingwane yokuxhumana okhetha ukuyinikeza.
